Flow measurement calculations

Accuracy and sizing


SPM develops its own in-house calculation tools for the sizing of process equipment and the definition of their operating characteristics.


We notably design flow measurement equipment compliant with ISO and ASME standards, as well as single- or multi-orifice flow restrictors developed using SPM’s proprietary methodology, including cavitation control and stage optimization.


Depending on the required level of accuracy, performance can be validated on certified test benches in order to refine characteristic coefficients and consolidate sizing data.

Validation and reliability


SPM verifies the pressure integrity of its equipment using in-house calculation tools to validate geometry, thickness, and material selection for each component.


Calculations are performed in accordance with major design codes (RCC-M, NF EN 13480, ASME B31.1 / B31.3, CODAP, CODETI).


SPM also verifies the pressure resistance of test tooling, ensuring safe and reliable pressure testing.

Finite-element analysis

Insight and control


SPM provides static and dynamic finite element analysis to validate pressure integrity and assess equipment behavior.


These analyses help refine design parameters and secure technical choices, particularly for complex geometries or demanding operating conditions.

Precision and continuity


Each equipment is modeled in 3D CAD and then used by the methods department for CAM programming and assembly phases.


Drawings are developed to cover the full lifecycle: manufacturing (detail drawings), assembly (assembly drawings), testing (tooling and instrumentation layouts), and on-site installation (general arrangement and interface drawings).
